Meeting with Prof. Pilate Moyo from the University of Cape Town

On May 22, 2025, the Centre for International Cooperation organised a meeting with Professor Pilate Moyo from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. The meeting was initiated by Prof. Marian Giżejowski of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, who has been working with the University of Cape Town for many years.

The meeting opened with welcoming remarks by Mr. Grzegorz Robak, Director of the Centre for International Cooperation. This was followed by presentations introducing both institutions – the Warsaw University of Technology and the University of Cape Town – highlighting their research and academic potential. A key part of the program was the discussion on potential areas of scientific and academic collaboration, particularly in materials science, civil engineering, and student exchange.

Participants included representatives from various faculties of WUT: Prof. Anna Boczkowska – Dean, Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering, Prof. Andrzej Garbacz – Dean, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Prof. Artur Zbiciak – Vice-Dean for International Cooperation, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Prof. Konrad Lewczuk – Vice-Dean for Science, Faculty of Transport, Chairman of the Senate Committee for Foreign Cooperation, Prof. Marian Giżejowski – Faculty of Civil Engineering, Prof. Michał Ziembowski – Faculty of Mathematics and Information Science, Ms. Patrycja Kluź – Centre for International Cooperation. An additional guest from partner university - Tongji University in China - was Prof. Ru Wang.

The official session concluded with a campus tour and visit to the Welcome Point, providing guests an opportunity to experience the university’s infrastructure and facilities.
