Visit of the Ambassador of Peru and the Delegation from the Catholic University of Santa María in Peru to the Warsaw University of Technology

On May 26, 2025, Professor Jan Słyk, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at the Warsaw University of Technology, met with Her Excellency Gloria Lissete Nalvarte Simoni De Isasi, Ambassador of Peru to the Republic of Poland, Third Secretary of the Embassy Daniel Oliviera Hermoza Alarcón, and a delegation from the Catholic University of Santa María (UCSM). The university was represented by Rector Dr. Jorge Luis Cáceres Arce and Vice-Rector for Research Dr. Máximo Rondón Rondón. The meeting was initiated by Professor Jarosław Arabas from the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology.

Numerous representatives from various units of the Warsaw University of Technology also took part in the meeting, including: Prof. Jarosław Arabas – Director of the Artificial Intelligence Division, Chair of the Scientific Council for ICT; Prof. Tomasz Gambin - Director of the Institute of Computer Science, Dr hab. Paweł Bylina – Faculty of Geodesy and Cartography; Mr Grzegorz Robak – Director of the Centre for International Cooperation; Ms Patrycja Kluź – Centre for International Cooperation; Mr Piotr Czarnecki – Foreign Language Centre. Representatives of the University of Warsaw also attended the event: Prof. Mariusz Ziółkowski – Head of the Centre for Andean Studies, Faculty of Archaeology and Dr Krzysztof Gogolewski – Institute of Informatics, Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics.

The meeting began with welcome speeches by Professor Jan Słyk, Vice-Rector for Studies at WUT, and Dr. Jorge Luis Cáceres Arce, Rector of UCSM. Following a presentation about the Warsaw University of Technology, discussions focused on potential areas of cooperation, including joint research, student mobility, and educational projects. The guests expressed interest in collaborating in environmental pollution prevention, architecture, artificial intelligence, and space research.

The delegation then visited the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology, meeting with the faculty's authorities, institute directors, and academic staff. Discussions centered on the potential for interdisciplinary collaboration, particularly in artificial intelligence, computer science, and geoinformatics.

The visit was part of WUT’s broader efforts to foster internationalisation and expand academic cooperation.
