The Ambassador of Chile Visits Warsaw University of Technology
On 18 August 2026, Warsaw University of Technology had the honour of welcoming His Excellency Rodrigo Ruiz, Ambassador of the Republic of Chile to Poland, accompanied by Rodrigo Reyes Torres, First Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Chile.

The meeting took place in the Main Building of Warsaw University of Technology and was chaired by Prof. Mariusz Malinowski, Vice-Rector for Research at WUT. The discussions were also attended by Dr. Eng. Alvaro Carreno, a Chilean national and researcher at the Institute of Automation and Industrial Electronics, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, as well as Dave Figueroa, a doctoral candidate at the Institute. Grzegorz Robak, Director of the Centre for International Cooperation, and Patrycja Kluź from the Centre for International Cooperation also took part in the meeting.

Vice-Rector Malinowski presented the main areas of activity and research at Warsaw University of Technology and spoke about the University’s academic contacts with higher education institutions in Chile. The Ambassador of the Republic of Chile showed particular interest in Poland’s research support system and programmes funding international cooperation.
The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange information and discuss potential directions for further cooperation between Warsaw University of Technology and Chilean universities. At the conclusion of the visit, Vice-Rector Malinowski gave the Ambassador a tour of the WUT Main Building and spoke about notable figures associated with the University.
