Report on participation in Education and Career 2015, Kazakhstan 2015

Between 9 and 11 April 2015, Ms. Zenoviya Shits from the Centre for International Cooperation was representing the Warsaw University of Technology at the international educational fairs "Education and Career 2015" in Almaty. The event was held under the patronage of the Ministry of Education of Kazakhstan for the 16thtime in the prestigious exhibition centre ‘Atakent-Expo’ in the centre of Almaty.

Together with other Polish universities at a joint stand ‘Study in Poland’, for 3 days we promoted WUT and Poland among Kazakh young people. WUT attracted great interest among the candidates as the best technical university in Poland. The stand was visited by graduates from Polish HEIs and students who have benefited from Polish and European Commission (Erasmus Mundus) scholarships by studying or taking part in student exchange programmes. It was amazing to meet a large group of candidates of Polish origins also interested in studying in Poland.

During the stay in Kazakhstan, Ms. Zenoviya Shits also visited the partner university - National Technical University in Karaganda. Invited students, academic teachers and employees of the office of international cooperation were present during this informational meeting.

In Almaty, Ms. Zenoviya Shits met high school pupils attending the classes of Polish language. It should be emphasized that such meetings with a representative of the university are very important in the context of informing about educational programmes and establishing direct contacts between candidates and the representative of the university recruiters.

Ms. Zenoviya Shits also met the director of the largest educational agency in Kazakhstan "Education Abroad" Ms. Gulmira Kalimoldayeva to discuss cooperation, namely expanding promotional activities for WUT in Kazakhstan together with the representatives of the agency.
