ENHANCE TRAINING OFFERS AND COURSES - winter semester 2023/2024
In ENHANCE, we work on attractive training offers for all kinds of students and staff.
It is a unique chance to learn new skills in an international setting and meet new people from the ENHANCE community. Visit this page to see our training repository. Here are our next offers:
1) Anti-bias lunch break
We all have biases. There is nothing wrong with it. Unconscious bias affects everyone. It is important to become aware of own biases. Unconscious bias might lead to discrimination and inequality in some cases when it is not actively managed. This short training will give you the tools that you need. We had already 5 lunch breaks with almost 100 participants in total. We are happy to see that the topic attracts our ENHANCE community. You can visit this low-threshold training during your lunch break. It takes only 60 minutes. The next training sessions will be held on: 2, 13, 21 November 2023. This short training will give you the effective tools that you need. Information and Registration: https://forms.office.com/e/ALyZnDySBJ
2) Pre-Departure Seminar for outgoing students in ENHANCE - Several dates in the next weeks
This three-hour online seminar prepares all outgoing students for their upcoming journey to one of the ENHANCE universities. Students will gain new skills in intercultural sensitivity, understanding (European) identity and implicit bias. Students will get prepared for their intercultural journey abroad. The next meetings are on: 26 October and 14 November 2023. The seminar times are always from 9.00 to 12.00 CET. The target groups are all students who are going to one of the ENHANCE universities soon (Erasmus+ students and also students of the ENHANCE European Education Pathways). 3) RWTH MOOC: Data Literacy Compact Course (3 ECTS)
The Data Literacy Compact Course is an online course, which is open to students of the ENHANCE partner universities. The course teaches fundamental and interdisciplinary data literacy skills – from an initial understanding of data and data literacy concepts to the collection and analysis as well as FAIR management and communication of data to data-driven insight and decision making.
The course is to be completed through self-study and includes videos and quizzes with English subtitles. Completion of the course is recorded upon passing the ENHANCE a written online-exam.
This 3 ECTS MOOC is offered by RWTH Aachen and is a mandatory part of the ENHANCE Certificate in Data Literacy. It starts on November 1 and can be studied self-paced on RTWHmoodle.
Applications will be accepted until October 27.

4) TUB Online Course: BEC Basic Module - Reflection and Responsibility (6 ECTS)
Attempts to diagnose the present generally appeal to conditions of crisis, precarity and complexity - rapid and coordinated action to meet the challenges of the climate catastrophe, automation, the housing crisis, or transformation of the transportation or healthcare sectors appears critical. These local to planetary scale challenges are not merely problems of technical feasibility but rather raise fundamental normative questions:
How can we implement strategies that ensure emerging technologies do not reproduce oppressive power relations? What contribution can my discipline make to an equitable mobility transformation? What are our values and visions for responsible futures and how should they be developed?
The “BEC Basic Module – Reflection and Responsibility” of the Berlin Ethics Certificate (BEC) lays the foundations for addressing ethical issues both within and beyond one’s own discipline and provides an introduction to current topics and case studies that can be explored in greater depth in further modules of the BEC.
Applications will be accepted until October 24.
Further information can be found: HERE.

5) TIME TO ASK FOR YOUR VOICE: What training offers do you wish?
The learning topics in the field of diversity, gender equality and inclusion in academia are huge. But what do you need? Is there a specific topic in the field of diversity, gender equality or inclusion that you wish to learn more? Something that you need or, your colleagues or your (fellow) students need? We are happy to hear your voice. You can easily share your wish here (It is anonymous).
