Enrolment for the ‘Gender-Responsive Research and Innovation Lab in STEM’ (Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme) summer school, 4 ECTS – DEADLINE 28.02.2026
The Gender-Responsive Research and Innovation Lab in STEM is an interdisciplinary training initiative led by Politecnico di Milano in collaboration with TU Berlin, RWTH Aachen, TU Delft and Norwegian University of Science and Technology within the ENHANCE Alliance .
The Lab combines technical expertise with social awareness. Participants will explore how gender, diversity, and intersectionality shape the development, adoption and governance of new technologies, with a particular focus on mobility, artificial intelligence and sustainability.
Target Audience
The Lab is open to Master’s-level students in STEM disciplines who are eager to broaden their perspectives on research and innovation. Applicants should have a strong interest in ethical and inclusive approaches to technology and be motivated to work across disciplines in international teams.
By participating in the Lab, students will:
- Understand and apply the Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) framework in STEM contexts;
- Integrate gender and diversity dimensions into research and design processes;
- Develop ethically grounded and socially responsive innovation strategies;
- Collaborate effectively across cultural and disciplinary boundaries;
- Critically reflect on the societal impact of science and technology.
Format and Timeline
The programme follows a blended learning format combining online preparation with an immersive on-site experience in Milan:
1. Pre-Lab online phase (April-June 2026):
Students are asked to complete the ENHANCE MOOC "Responsible Innovators of Tomorrow” alongside participating in 2 online seminars introducing Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) and Diversity Aware Design methodologies.
2. 5-days Summer School in Milan:
Taking place in September 2026 (7th-11th), it is devoted to peer-learning activities and project development. It also encompasses input from experts, including visiting professors from TU Berlin, RWTH Aachen, TU Delft and NTNU.
Schedule Information:
- MOOC "Responsible Innovators of Tomorrow": asynchronous;
- Online Seminar 1: May 11th, 2026 5-7 PM;
- Online Seminar 2: June 8th, 2026 5-7 PM;
- 5-days Summer School at Politecnico di Milano: September 7th-11th, 2026.
Participants who successfully complete the Lab will receive an ENHANCE Certificate of Achievement, bearing 4 ECTS.

Participation in the programme is free of charge.
