Signing Memorandum of Understanding and Framework agreement on the joint doctoral programme between WUT and Dresden University of Technology

On the 3rd of October 2024, we celebrated 30 years of partnership between Warsaw University of Technology and Dresden University of Technology.

In the presence of Saxony’s Minister President Michael Kretschmer and Voivode of Masovia Mariusz Frankowski, both universities signed a Memorandum of Understanding and a framework agreement on the joint doctoral programmes. On behalf of the Warsaw University of Technology, Prof. Mariusz Malinowski, Vice-Rector for Science, signed the documents. On behalf of the Dresden University of Technology it was Prof. Michael Kobel, Vice-Rector for Education.

The meeting was organised on the initiative of Prof. Anna Boczkowska, Dean of the Faculty of Materials Engineering, who delivered a presentation on the cooperation between the two universities.

Researchers from the Faculty of Materials Engineering at Warsaw University of Technology and the Institute of Light Engineering and Polymer Technology at Technische Universität Dresden presented current projects such as GreenCompas and discussed opportunities for future joint research.

During the meeting, students and doctoral candidates from both universities presented their research projects, including the XGarden project aimed at STEM education for high school students.
