The “Distinguished Star” Award for Prof. Andrzej Kraśniewski
During this year’s “International Students in Poland 2025” conference gala, held on January 30 in Gdańsk, the “Distinguished Star 2025” Award for his lifetime achievements and exceptional contributions to internationalization was presented to Prof. Andrzej Kraśniewski from the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology at the Warsaw University of Technology, and longtime Secretary General of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland (KRASP). The award was accepted on behalf of Prof. Kraśniewski by the Rector of the Warsaw University of Technology, Prof. Krzysztof Zaremba.
Prof. Andrzej Kraśniewski co-participated in the creation of the “Study in Poland” program in 2005. His long-term work for the internationalization of Polish universities, especially in the area of education, included collaboration in the Bologna expert team, creating formal foundations for programs of study in English, and the development of these programs. He developed key strategic documents for the ENHANCE Alliance: the educational strategy and the model for introducing complex micro-credentials in the international environment. As the longtime Secretary General of KRASP and a member of European decision-making bodies, including the European University Association, he made a tremendous contribution to raising the position of Polish universities on the international stage.
