The recruitment is open! Fulbright Commission scholarships for travel to the USA.
We are pleased to inform you that the next recruitment for the Fulbright Commission's scholarship programs for travel to the USA is underway: Junior Research Award 2026-27, Fulbright Research Award at Stanford University School of Medicine 2026-27, Graduate Student Award 2026-27, Graduate Student Award LLM in International Human Rights Law at University of Notre Dame 2026-27, Senior Award 2026-27, and STEM Impact Award 2025-26.
Junior Research Award 2026-27
The Fulbright Junior Research Award 2026-27 is a program for individuals with Polish citizenship preparing their doctoral dissertation at Polish research institutions. The purpose of the scholarship, which lasts from 4 to 10 months, is to carry out an independent research project at a U.S. university, non-profit research institute, or non-governmental organization in the USA, related to the subject of the doctoral dissertation. Applications are accepted from all fields, excluding projects requiring direct contact with patients. As part of the Junior Research Award 2026-27 competition, applications can also be submitted for the Fulbright Research Award at Stanford University School of Medicine 2026-27. The application deadline is September 5 this year.

Fulbright Research Award at Stanford University School of Medicine 2026-27
The Fulbright Research Award at Stanford University School of Medicine 2026-27 is a program for individuals with Polish citizenship preparing their doctoral dissertation at Polish research institutions in the following fields: cell biology, molecular or structural biology, biochemistry, biophysics, or related areas, excluding projects requiring direct contact with patients. The scholarship, lasting from 8 to 10 months, aims to implement one of the projects proposed by Rogala Lab, also related to the subject of the doctoral dissertation. This scholarship is part of the Junior Research Award program and is offered in collaboration with Rogala Lab. The application deadline is September 5 this year.

Graduate Student Award 2026-27
The Fulbright Graduate Student Award 2026-27 is a program for individuals with Polish citizenship interested in starting second or third-level studies in the USA, providing funding for the first year of study up to $47,000, with the possibility of extension for the following year. Applications are accepted for all fields of study, excluding medical studies requiring direct contact with patients, LLM (Master of Laws) programs, and MBA (Master of Business Administration) programs, with the exception of the LLM in International Human Rights Law program co-funded by the Commission in collaboration with the University of Notre Dame. The program is available at any accredited higher education institution. Applicants must hold a master's degree by June of the departure year. The application deadline is April 28 this year.

Graduate Student Award LLM in International Human Rights Law at University of Notre Dame 2026-27
New! As part of the Graduate Student Award 2026-27 competition, applicants can apply for a one-year scholarship to pursue the LLM in International Human Rights Law at the University of Notre Dame. Applicants must hold a law degree by June of the departure year and have Polish citizenship. The scholarship is offered in collaboration with the Law School of the University of Notre Dame. The program covers topics such as civil and political rights, global racial justice, religious freedom, international criminal law concerning mass crimes and authoritarianism, as well as aspects of economic, social, and cultural rights related to challenges like global poverty, sustainable development, transnational human rights abuses by corporations, climate change, and environmental degradation. The requirements and selection procedure are the same as for applicants to the Graduate Student Award program. The application deadline is April 28 this year.

Senior Award 2026-27
The Fulbright Senior Award 2026-27 is a program that enables individuals with Polish citizenship employed at Polish academic and research institutions to carry out independent research or research-teaching projects at a host institution in the USA (i.e., U.S. university, non-profit research institute, or government institution). The scholarship, lasting from 3 to 10 months, is intended for research and teaching staff at any stage of their career after obtaining a doctoral degree. Applications are accepted from all fields, excluding projects requiring direct contact with patients. The application deadline is June 9 this year.

STEM Impact Award 2024-25
The Fulbright STEM Impact Award 2025-26 is a program for individuals with Polish citizenship leading research projects in the STEM fields and employed at Polish academic and research institutions. The scholarship allows for the realization of a short-term (2-6 weeks) research, teaching, or research-teaching project and the expansion of knowledge in science commercialization or effective grant writing at institutions in the USA. The scholarship is intended for research and teaching staff with experience in managing research projects and supervising other scientists. The application deadline is May 19 this year.
