From 15 to 18 October 2026, Prof. Robert Zalewski, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs at the Warsaw University of Technology (WUT), took part in the City of Warsaw’s Educational Mission to Chicago. The mission involved a delegation from the City of Warsaw led by Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski, representatives of five Warsaw universities, and the Warsaw Tourism Organization. Its aim was to promote Warsaw’s educational offer among young people of Polish descent and establish contacts with American universities. The mission’s slogan was “We attract talents and specialists – study, work and live in Warsaw.”
One of the key highlights of the programme was a series of meetings at Loyola University Chicago and Northwestern University. The Polish delegation met with representatives of the universities’ authorities and learned about the main areas of their activities.
An important part of the mission focused on engaging with the Polish diaspora and young people of Polish origin. On Saturday, 17 October, representatives of Warsaw universities visited Polish schools in the Chicago metropolitan area. Prof. Robert Zalewski took part in meetings at the King Casimir the Great Polish School and St. Blaise Polish Catholic School.
