Vice-Rector for Research of Warsaw University of Technology at the 3rd Forum of Rectors of Poland and Uzbekistan in Samarkand

On April 13–14, 2026, the Vice-Rector for Research of the Warsaw University of Technology, Prof. Mariusz Malinowski, participated in the Central Asia–European Union University Congress and the 3rd Forum of Rectors of Poland and Uzbekistan.

The congress was organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the ministries of science and health of Uzbekistan, the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland, the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange, the Perspektywy Education Foundation, and the IREG Observatory on Academic Ranking and Excellence. On April 13, 2026, in Samarkand, the ministers of science of Poland and Uzbekistan signed a letter of intent regarding cooperation in higher education. It covers, among other things, student exchange, the establishment of research centers, and strengthening regional cooperation.

Vice-Rector Malinowski discussed cooperation in education and student exchange with rectors of Uzbek universities, including Fergana State Technical University, Tashkent State Transport University, and the Central Asian University of Environmental and Climate Change Studies (Green University).

The visit was a continuation of the Warsaw University of Technology’s cooperation efforts with Uzbekistan from the previous year. On April 22, 2025, the university authorities met with a delegation of rectors from Uzbek universities (HERE), and on April 23, 2025, with the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Poland (HERE).
