Visit of TU Berlin and RWTH Aachen Foreign Language Centres Directors to the WUT Foreign Language Centre and the Center for International Cooperation.
On April 18-21, 2023, Dr Petra Pointner, the RWTH Aachen Language Centre, Director and Dr Almut Schön, Director of the Central Institution for Modern Languages (ZEMS) of Berlin University of Technology visited the Foreign Language Centre and Centre for International Cooperation of WUT. Both universities are partner universities of WUT in the ENHANCE Alliance. The visit was organized by the Foreign Language Centre and the Centre for International Cooperation.

The main purpose of the visit was to discuss the challenges of language teaching at universities and discuss formats for future cooperation using the proven model of language tandems. The Warsaw University of Technology is the leader of the Language Tandems project in the ENHANCE Alliance.
On April 19, Dr Petra Pointner and Dr Almut Schön met with the FLC team: Directors Lucyna Skwarko, Anna Król, Piotr Czarnecki and Dorota Chromińska – FLC International Cooperation coordinator, Ewelina Janas – FLC teacher involved in international cooperation projects with Technical University of Berlin and Aachen. The meeting was also attended by Grzegorz Robak, Director of the Centre for International Cooperation at WUT.
On Thursday, the two Directors participated in language classes offered at Warsaw University of Technology. On Friday, they met with teachers of German at WUT and with Grzegorz Robak, Director of the Centre for International Cooperation, to discuss further cooperation within the ENHANCE Alliance. The series of meetings ended with a summary of the visit which took place at the Foreign Language Centre of WUT.
According to Director Almut Schön: It was extremely inspiring to experience the international atmosphere, the modern language methodologies at WUT and the well-known Polish hospitality. Director Petra Pointner summarized her impressions as follows: I was deeply impressed by the openmindedness and great commitment of the academic staff and greatly benefited from the many discussions about the opportunities and challenges that both our universities are facing.
