Warsaw University of Technology Expands Cooperation with Vietnam
From 8 to 13 October 2026, a delegation from Warsaw University of Technology (WUT) took part in the Polish Educational Mission to Vietnam, organised by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA). WUT was represented by Prof. Jan Słyk, Vice-Rector for Studies, and Grzegorz Robak, Director of the Centre for International Cooperation. The mission aimed to promote the university’s educational offer and establish and strengthen academic cooperation with Vietnamese universities.
The mission began on 8 October 2026 with the International Conference on Education Cooperation in the Digital Era and a meeting at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Hanoi. The event was attended by Joanna Skoczek, Chargé d’affaires a.i. of the Republic of Poland in Vietnam, representatives of Vietnamese universities, and delegations from 13 Polish higher education institutions. Dr Le Dac Son, a WUT alumnus and Chairman of the University Council at Dai Nam University, also took part in the meeting.
The following day, the delegation visited two technical universities. During a meeting with representatives of Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), the participants discussed opportunities for cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including artificial intelligence, data analytics, mechatronics and biomedical engineering. Discussions at the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH) focused on educational programmes and the research potential of both institutions.
On 10–11 October 2026, WUT presented its educational offer at the Study in Europe education fairs in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Visitors to the university’s stand included prospective students interested in bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes, doctoral studies, and short-term learning opportunities offered, among others, through the ENHANCE Alliance. Programmes related to computer science and aerospace engineering attracted the greatest interest. Grzegorz Robak presented the support available to international students at WUT. The stand in Ho Chi Minh City was also visited by Quoc Tuan Mai, a graduate of WUT’s Faculty of Electrical Engineering.
The mission programme also included talks with the authorities of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Engineering (HCM-UTE) on 12 October 2026, focusing on student exchange and joint educational initiatives, as well as a meeting with representatives of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency’s Foreign Trade Office in Vietnam. On 13 October 2026, the delegation participated in B2B meetings during the Vietnam–Poland Higher Education Forum at RMIT University in Ho Chi Minh City. The event provided an opportunity to establish contacts with additional Vietnamese universities interested in cooperation with Warsaw University of Technology.
The visit formed part of WUT’s efforts to promote its educational offer and develop cooperation with international partners in education and research.
