Warsaw University of Technology hosted the ENHANCE Board of Directors and Steering Committee

The meeting of the two main bodies of the ENHANCE Alliance, the Board of Directors and the Steering Committee, which took place at the Warsaw University of Technology on 12-13 May 2022, was attended by delegations of all ENHANCE universities, led by rectors and vice-rectors, and invited guests. The aim of the event was to discuss the strategic directions of ENHANCE development until 2030 in the context of the Strategy for "European Universities" developed by the European Commission.

- Over its first 18 months of operation the ENHANCE program has brought satisfactory results. A common educational strategy, implementation of micro-credentials, staff weeks, summer schools, language tandems - to name but a few. Many other projects are at an advanced stage of implementation. I am convinced that our talks in Warsaw and subsequent meetings will result in  preparation of valuable projects for the next application for funding - said Prof. Krzysztof Zaremba, Rector of the Warsaw University of Technology, in his speech opening the event.

The guests were welcome by Prof. Anne Borg, Rector of NTNU Trondheim and Chair of the ENHANCE Board of Directors.

The official part was followed by the workshop titled "Strategic Directions of ENHANCE", during which participants discussed the most important assumptions of the ENHANCE program in the context of the new "European Universities" initiative.

The program of the first day ended with a gala dinner, whose special guest was Andrij Deszczycia, Ambassador of Ukraine to Poland.

The second day of the meeting began with an online presentation by Prof. Rik Van de Walle, President of the CESAER association and Rector of Ghent University, who provided an expert insight into the field of education and research as well as the ENLIGHT consortium's experience and key achievements in the "European Universities" program.

During the second part of the workshop "Strategic Directions of ENHANCE" participants highlighted elements that should be included in an expanded ENHANCE mission and work packages.

The ENHANCE Governance meeting at the Warsaw University of Technology was attended by 48 participants, including 39 guests representing foreign partner universities.
