Report on participation in EDUFAIRS - Turkey and Azerbaijan 2015
On March 17th – 30th, a representative of Centre for International Coopeartion of Warsaw University of Technology, Ms. Katarzyna Janiga and a representative of Foreign Language Centre of WUT, Ms. Agata Wierzbińska participated in education promotion EDUFAIRS fair held in Turkey and Azerbaijan.
At the fairs in Turkey, there were present universities from the UK (University of Chester), Sweden (Jönköping University), Malaysia (University of Malaya), Belarus (Belarus State Economic University), Latvia (Transport and Telecommunication Institute). It is worth mentioning that the vast majority of participants were promoting the services of English language schools, among which there were present LAL Language Centres, Stafford House School of English, Embassy English, English Time and Churchill House School of English Language.
On March 18th Ms. Janiga and Ms. Wierzbinska visited the the main office of Truva Education Services with whom WUT has been successfully cooperating in the field of recruiting Turkish students to both, undergraduate and graduate studies and to English B2 preparatory courses. The aim of the meeting was to present the updated application procedures for candidates applying for undergraduate studies at WUT and to discuss the changes regarding the application procedures introduced by the Turkish Ministry of Higher Education.
The fairs in Istanbul were organized in two different locations: on March 19th at Hilton Hotel in the Asian side of the city and then, on March 21st -22nd at Marmara Hotel situated on Taksim square. In both locations the representatives of WUT were accompanied by the representatives of Truva Education Services. The programs that turned out to be most popular among students were Architecture, Civil Engineering, Aerospace Engineering and English B2 preparatory courses.
On March 24th the representatives of WUT took part in another fair held in Hilton Hotel in the centre of Ankara. Among programmes that attracted a lot of attention were Biotechnology, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering and English B2 preparatory courses. After the fairs, Ms. Janiga visited the main office of Candelas International Education and Consultancyin order to provide more detailed information regarding studies offer, application procedures and to discuss some promotional activities aimed at recruiting students from Ankara.
On March 26th Ms. Janiga and Ms. Wierzbinska traveled to Izmir for another fair held in Hilton Hotel. This time they were also accompanied by a representative of the agency United Towers. Those visiting the WUT’s stand were mostly interested in Aerospace Engineering, Power Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Management of Sustainable Enterpriseprogrammes and English B2 preparatory courses.
On 29th-30th March the representatives of WUT participated in the second part of EDUFAIRS held in Baku, Azerbaijan. At the fair, there were also present universities from Turkey (Istanbul Sehir University and Gaziantep University). This time the vast majority of the fair visitors were interested in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Management of Sustainable Enterprise, Global Production Engineering and Management programmes. There were also numerous people willing to participate in English B2 preparatory courses, especially the summer ones, dedicated to students who would like to improve their language skills and take IELTS exam.
On 31stMarch Ms. Katarzyna and Ms. Agata took their trip back to Warsaw.
