Report on participation in European Higher Education Fair, Kazakhstan 2015

On 26th -27th  September 2015, Ms Zenoviya Shits from the Centre for International Cooperation was representing Warsaw University of Technology at the international education fair "European Higher Education Fair" in Almaty under the patronage of the European Commission. The event was held in the Al – Farabi Kazakh National University with comprehensive support from the host university and the student-volunteers.

During two days Warsaw University of Technology was promoted among Kazakh young people and students and attracted great interest as one of the best technical universities in Poland. The stand was visited by graduates from Polish HEIs and students who had benefited from Polish and European Commission (Erasmus Mundus) scholarships by studying or taking part in student exchange programmes. It was amazing to meet a large group of candidates of Polish origin also interested in studying in Poland. It was nice to host on the stand the pupils attending classes of Polish language, which Zenoviya  visited last year in April.

During the stay in Kazakhstan Ms Zenoviya Shits also met with a representative of the education agency Ms. Gulmira Kalimodayevą, passing the current offer of educational programs for candidates from Kazakhstan on to her.

On 28 September Ms Zenoviya Shits participated in the Conference ‘Cooperation in the higher-education sphere between the European Union and the Republic of Kazakhstan’. At the end of the conference the participants had the opportunity to participate in  ‘mini meetings’ among university representatives of specific orientation: technical, humanities, law, etc., which gave the opportunity to establish new contacts among universities of similar orientation.
