Warsaw University of Technology visits China
On 4-9th September Prof. Krzysztof Lewenstein's delagation visited China
During the visit our delegation was hosted by China Scholarship Council and Donfang International Center for Education Exchange. The aim of the meeting was to establish rules of cooperation between WUT and chinese representatives responsible for scholarship policy and assistance in establishing contacts with Chinese universities. CSC is interested in significant increase in the numer of scholarships awarded to young chinese students as well as gradual redirecting of resources for art education and linguistics to the polish technical universities.
An important highlight of the Warsaw University of Technology's delegation stay in China was participation in the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the North University of China in Taiyuan. Among the participants were the representatives of parner universities from New Zeland, USa and Russia. On behalf of Warsaw Univesrity of Technology Prof. Krzysztof Lewenstein has signed an agreement regarding student exchange as a complement to MoU signed in 2013. Since 2014 WUT has an agreeemnt with North University of China regarding joint study programes (2+2 model) at the Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering (Aerospace Engineering) and Faculty of Building Services, Hydro and Evironmental Engineering (Environmental Engineering). Prof. Lewenstein has also held a meeting with a group of chinese students joining WUT in this academic year.
Representatives of the WUT's delegation also visited Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics - one of the best technical universities in China, specializing in aviation and aerospace engineering. Warsaw University of Technology has been cooperating with NUAA since 2014 on the field of student exchange. The meeting, therefore, was an opportunity to discuss the existing cooperation, as well as establish plans for the next year. The priority for both parties is the possibility of establishing a cooperation in the area of education and research between our universities in the areas such as Power and Aerospace Engineering, Materials Engineering and Robotics. It was provisionally established that a joint Science Conference allowing to get aquainted with the scientific and educational potental of our chinese partners will be held in spring. Summer schools and joint study programmes (B.Sc. studies 2+2 and M.Sc. studies 1+1) are also in the area of interest for both parties.
