Ukraine Day at Warsaw University of Technology
350 enrolled people from 11 European technical universities, 125 viewers of events broadcasted from Warsaw University of Technology, 50 stationary participants. On June 6, 2024, Warsaw University of Technology organized Ukraine Day in cooperation with Universitat Politècnica de València with the participation of polytechnics from Kyiv and Lviv within the framework of ENHANCE Task Force Ukraine - one of the initiatives of the ENHANCE Alliance of European universities. WUT is the leader of these activities in the Alliance.

The event was held in a hybrid form - on the premises of Warsaw University of Technology in the building at Rektorska 4 Street and Universitat Politècnica de València and online. It was attended - stationary and online - by more than 170 people.

During Ukraine Day, participants listened to a moving concert by Werchowyna, watched a short film about Ukraine with interactive elements, and participated in workshops on Ukrainian culture, music, cuisine, and the Ukrainian language.

Iryna Levkovych from the student research club Herbion from the Warsaw University of Technology talked about Ukrainian embroideries, while Volodymyr Dolhopiatov, a student from the Faculty of Mechanical Power and Aeronautics at WUT, recalled one of the most famous Ukrainian melodies in his mini-lecture and concert. An important part of Ukraine Day was the student workshop “People, Prosperity, Peace - dedicated to reconstructing Ukraine after the war.” The meeting ended with a quiz on Ukraine with prizes and a tasting of Ukrainian food.

The coordinators of Ukraine Day are Katarzyna Zambrzycka-Papuda, PhD from the Faculty of Administration and Social Sciences of the Warsaw University of Technology, the ENHANCE Task Force Ukraine Leader, and Dorota Chrominska, MA, Foreign Language Centre of WUT Proxy for cooperation with ENHANCE and Centre for International Cooperation and the ENHANCE language tandems coordinator.

ENHANCE Task Force Ukraine is engaged in designing and implementing activities to support the Ukrainian community. All members of the ENHANCE Alliance and the Ukrainian partner universities of Kyiv Polytechnic University and Lviv Polytechnic University are involved in the activities of ENHANCE Task Force Ukraine. Among other things, the projects related to modern education will be created and implemented.
