Annual ENHANCE Diversity Office Meeting 2026 at WUT

From 8 to 11 June 2026, diversity experts, practitioners, and students from the partner universities of the ENHANCE Alliance, of which Warsaw University of Technology (WUT) is a member, gathered in Warsaw for the annual ENHANCE Diversity Office Meeting. The event was dedicated to translating the principles of inclusion into concrete actions implemented across the Alliance. This year’s edition was hosted by Warsaw University of Technology. On behalf of WUT, the event was coordinated by Dr. Grzegorz Ganczewski, ENHANCE+ Project Manager at the Development Projects Centre (CPR), together with the CPR team: Monika Żelaźik, Aneta Nowakowska, Katarzyna Krawczyk, and Angelika Chrzanowska.

The meeting brought together representatives of all ENHANCE partner universities, who reviewed progress to date, exchanged knowledge and experiences, shared solutions implemented at their home institutions, and identified future directions for strengthening inclusion, diversity, equity, and belonging within European higher education. Discussions focused on key areas of university activity, including education, research, academic mobility, and governance.

A distinctive feature of the programme was the participation of the ENHANCE STEM Ambassadors – female students actively engaged in promoting STEM disciplines and diversity-related initiatives. The ambassadors shared their experiences of outreach activities aimed at engaging new target groups and presented their vision for the future of diversity initiatives within the Alliance. Their participation reflected ENHANCE’s commitment to involving students not only as beneficiaries of inclusion efforts but also as active co-creators of these initiatives.

An important part of the ENHANCE Diversity Office Meeting programme was a public expert panel and discussion organised jointly with the WUT’s community under the theme “From Initiatives to Impact: Upscaling and Mainstreaming Inclusion, Diversity and Equity in ENHANCE”. Participants explored ways in which successful local initiatives could be scaled up across the Alliance and transformed into sustainable, systemic solutions.

During the event, participants also attended selected sessions of the Women in Tech Summit in Warsaw, organised by the Perspektywy Educational Foundation. The summit is one of Europe’s leading events dedicated to women in technology and innovation. Participation in the summit provided an opportunity to engage in broader discussions on leadership, diversity, and the future of STEM careers.

Over the years, the annual ENHANCE Diversity Office Meeting has become one of the most important forums for exchanging experiences, fostering mutual learning, and initiating innovative activities within ENHANCE. This year’s meeting once again contributed to the development of concrete recommendations and actions supporting the shared goal of building a more inclusive, equitable, and accessible European higher education landscape.

The event was co-financed by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) under the project “ENHANCER+ – Support for Short-Term Learning Opportunities for Students and Staff of Warsaw University of Technology within the International ENHANCE Alliance Environment”.
