What is the "My PhD in 180 Seconds" competition?

The competition is an opportunity for PhD students to present their research to a broad audience. The goal is to explain complex topics in a simple way. In addition to its academic aspect, the competition offers a chance to test public speaking skills, which is a great advantage in building a career!

Competition Schedule:

• From February 5 to March 7, 2025: Application submission period: application form (direct link)
• March 27, 2025: National final held at the University of Silesia (Sosnowiec campus)
• June 13, 2025: Central European final held at the University of Warsaw

To participate in the competition, the following conditions must be met:

• Proficiency in French.
• Enrolled in a doctoral program during the academic year 2024-2025 or have obtained a PhD from a Polish university no earlier than September 2024.
• Representing the university where the candidate is a student. In the case of a cotutelle PhD, the candidate may only represent one university and cannot submit applications for participation in two countries involved in the competition.
• Sufficient progress in the research project.
• Informing your supervisor and/or funding body, as well as the director of the research unit, about your participation in the competition.
• Completing the application form by March 7.
• Previous winners/finalists of earlier editions of the competition are not eligible to participate.
