Visit of the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Warsaw University of Technology
On April 29, 2026, Prof. Mariusz Malinowski, Vice-Rector for Research at the Warsaw University of Technology, met with His Excellency Miguel Berger, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Poland, and Dr. Monika Schidorowitz, Head of the Science and Research Department at the German Embassy in Warsaw. The meeting was also attended by Dr. Piotr Dardziński, Director of the WUT Innovation Center, and Grzegorz Robak, Director of the Centre for International Cooperation.

In his remarks, Prof. Malinowski outlined the key research areas at the Warsaw University of Technology and emphasized the university’s role in the ENHANCE Alliance, coordinated by the Technical University of Berlin. Within ENHANCE, collaboration also includes RWTH Aachen, another leading German university. He discussed the importance of European projects and highlighted the need to develop funding mechanisms for research cooperation in the form of micro-grants. The Ambassador then spoke, underscoring the importance of joint initiatives and the potential for further development of cooperation between universities in both countries.
During the meeting, key areas of activity at the Warsaw University of Technology were presented. Grzegorz Robak, Director of the Centre for International Cooperation, outlined the current state of cooperation with German universities. Using the example of the Technical University of Berlin, he discussed various formats of educational collaboration, including cooperation between language centers at both institutions and short-term educational formats such as language tandems and professional programs developed by WUT within the ENHANCE Alliance. Dr. Piotr Dardziński, Director of the Innovation Center, presented the Center’s goals and areas of activity, focusing on support for researchers in intellectual property valuation, company formation, and technology transfer. He also introduced selected spin-off companies of the Warsaw University of Technology.
The meeting concluded with a discussion on opportunities to deepen cooperation in research, innovation, and academic mobility. It marked an important step in strengthening relations between the Warsaw University of Technology and German universities, research institutes, and enterprises in the field of science and higher education.
