Visit of the delegation from Universidad Católica de Santa María (Peru) to Politechnika Warszawska
On 19 February 2026, Prof. Mariusz Malinowski, Vice-Rector for Research, met with a delegation from Universidad Católica de Santa María (Peru). The Peruvian university was represented by its Rector, Dr. Jorge Luis Cáceres Arce, and Vice-Rector for Research, Dr. Máximo Rondón Rondón.

From the Warsaw University of Technology, the meeting was also attended by Prof. Jarosław Arabas, Head of the Artificial Intelligence Division at the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology; Dr. habil. Paweł Bylina from the Faculty of Geodesy and Cartography; Grzegorz Robak, Director of the International Cooperation Centre; and Dave Figueroa, a PhD student at the WUT Doctoral School.
The purpose of the event was to discuss opportunities for educational cooperation as well as student and staff exchange. Prof. Jarosław Arabas delivered a presentation on the Computer Engineering program at the Warsaw University of Technology. Dr. habil. Paweł Bylina presented applications of artificial intelligence in spatial planning.
In the afternoon, the guests visited the Centre for Advanced Materials and Technologies CEZAMAT. They were welcomed by the Deputy Director of CEZAMAT, Aleksandra Mościcka-Studzińska. The meeting was also attended by Dr. habil. Eng. Mariusz Pietrzak, Head of the Medical Diagnostics Division, and Dr. Eng. Mateusz Słowikowski from the Intelligent Semiconductor Systems Division. The delegation from Peru toured the laboratories of the Printed Electronics, Textronics and Assembly Division, as well as the Microbiology, Molecular Genetics and Genomics Division. CEZAMAT staff presented the research infrastructure, and potential areas of cooperation in this field were discussed.
The afternoon meeting was also attended by Prof. Mariusz Ziółkowski, Head of the Andean Research Center at the Faculty of Archaeology of the Uniwersytet Warszawski. The University of Warsaw has maintained long-term cooperation with Universidad Católica de Santa María in the field of archaeology.
